Carolee Dean, author of the
young adult novel, COMFORT, has made numerous appearances as a
guest poet/author at schools, libraries, poetry events, and
teacher conferences. In addition, she was a featured author at
the 2002 Texas Book Festival. Her presentations include a
dramatic reading of poems from her novel, a discussion of the
writing and publishing process, and a brief poetry writing
activity if time and space permit. Presentation length is
approximately 50 minutes and group size is usually around 100,
but Dean can accommodate larger groups. Intensive poetry writing
workshops are available for smaller groups.
Prices for the 2008-2009
school year for locations in the Albuquerque Metro area are
$100.00 for each 50 minute presentation with a $200.00 minimum.
For other locations in New Mexico the cost is $600.00 for three
presentations and travel expenses will be added. For locations

Dean is a board certified
speech-language pathologist who has worked with students of all
ages and ability levels. She uses a multisensory approach to
teach writing incorporating storyboarding and poetry. Length of
